The book of Matthew Bible study in chronological order.
Fishers of Men Matthew 4:18-21
When Jesus Calls, Drop Your Nets & Follow Him! A lesson from the first Disciples and the qualities they had to be called. If you find yourself in a position that God asks you to do something, He won’t send you unequipped, in fact He sends you to do something knowing already what your capabilities and talents are, He did create you after all! He knows us, and yes, even if that task of following where He leads you to go can be difficult or challenging, remember that God could send anyone, but He chose you.
Jesus Ministry Begins- Be A Light
We are aware of the things around us, but can sense there’s more depth to our life. When we learn about God and how He sent Jesus to be our Savior, we become planted. Once we are planted, we begin to grow as Christians by learning about God through His Word, joining a local church, and becoming students of the Bible. Our relationship becomes rooted in His word, and we begin to sprout a new life, the stalk and leaves that give life.
Jesus, anointed of God-Matthew 3:11-17
Matthew 3:16-17
(16)“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: (17) And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Verse 16 During this time, we see that Jesus had a divine appointment. Jesus had/has no sin, therefore, He did not need to be baptized due to repentance or cleansing, but more as the beginning of His purpose to begin His ministry. When He was baptized, we read that after He rose from the water the heavens were opened unto him and the Holy Spirit of God descended like a dove upon Him.
Bold Messengers Matthew 3:7-10
Devotional study on Matthew 3:7-12. John the Baptist’s message is clear and not “sugar coating” anything. The truth can be brutal, but without truth, we wouldn’t have the knowledge to repent from wrongdoing, what we know as sin. John doesn’t want to lead anyone astray, he is there as a messenger to give a clear warning of repentance. This goes for us in our current day.

Reading the Bible
Opening the Bible can feel daunting, like climbing an unfamiliar mountain. I’ve heard so many reasons why one may be discouraged from opening the best book ever recorded. One such reason….
