Beatitudes Series Part 15: Beware of False Prophets

Beatitudes Bible Study Part 15: Beware of False Prophets

False prophets are not something that is new; Jesus is warning us to be cautious of them, they have been around since the garden of Eden, in the form of a snake. False prophets are not a new concept; they are smooth speakers, they are pleasing or likeable individuals, popular, and seek fame for themselves. We will know them by the fruits of their labor. God gives His children the gift of wise discernment. If we are unsure of an individual, we should pray and seek confirmation from God. But most of the time, that instinct one may get when meeting someone, most likely could be the Holy Spirit warning that your spirit and their spirit are not united the same with the Holy Spirit.

Know Them By Their Fruits

Some false teachers or prophets may be so smooth that it may take a while to recognize their true identity. What is their true desire behind what they teach or preach? Is there a message one that is aligned with God’s Word, or is it slightly changed or interpreted to pervert it into a message that would be aligned with their own desires? A true teacher will want the best for other individuals; they do not seek fame or glory, they have a desire to shine a light on Jesus Christ, and not of themselves.

Beatitudes Series Part 14: Enter The Strait Gate

Beatitudes Bible Study Part 14: Enter The Strait Gate

“Jesus instructs us not to conform to the world. When one trusts in Jesus Christ through repentance, they are a new creature. This does not mean we are made imperfect; we still have fleshly desires, but those are pushed away the closer we come into fellowship with God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is our guide, our conscience that warns us from right or wrong.

The path to destruction is the one we are on when we are born; the destruction of sin is a path we are already walking. Jesus is the narrow way; He is the only way to heaven that gives us eternal life through the redemption of our sins. This is not a reaction to what we have done, but what Jesus has done! “

Beatitudes Series Part 13: Better Than What We Deserve

Beatitudes Bible Study Part 13: Better Than I Deserve

Reflecting on the thought of how great God is, one may think He would not want to be bothered with our day-to-day happenings of everyday average ebb and flow of an ordinary day. This is where we are sadly mistaken! To have clear communication with a friend or loved one, we must stay in contact with them; doing so helps us to know them better. The relationship between our Heavenly Father and us should be a top priority.

Beatitudes Series Part 12: Don’t Cast Pearls To Swine

Beatitudes Bible Study Part 12: Don’t Cast Pearls To Swine

Jesus often speaks in parables. When we look at what a pearl represents, it’s more than just an ornament for beautiful jewelry. There are some big representations here when Jesus speaks of pearls, dogs, and swine. Jesus warns not to give that which is holy unto dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine. If just reading this, it may seem simple, but if we take a moment to understand what this truly means, we can apply it to our lives. Let’s look at a few of these and what they may represent according to the Bible.

Beatitudes Series Part 11: Judge Not

Beatitudes Bible Study Part 11: Judge Not

How much clearer can Jesus be to us? Let us not judge others so that we may not be judged ourselves. Have you ever caught yourself scrunching your nose at someone or their situation? I have, not proud of it, but then God gently nudged me like He always does to get me out of the fleshly thought path. He reminds me that I was not in a good place with God, I still have my days, I’m nowhere near perfect, but I’m perfectly IMPERFECT! I’m a work in progress, and I can humbly admit this, as we all should!

Beatitudes Series Part 10: Lilies of the Field

Beatitudes Bible Study Part 10: Lilies of the Field

They grow, the don’t move, but yet God supplies their beauty and their means of nutrients. We are given the things that we are in need of, nothing surprises God! If you look back and reflect on your past, you may see very clear evidence of when God supplied your needs and you have no other explanation as to how it was done. Sometimes things may be removed from our life that we don’t want to lose but if that was not taken away, then God would not have been able to give us the blessing that He has prepared for us. When God closes a door, He already has another ready to be opened to you, at the right time.

Beatitudes Series Part 8: Learning About Fasting

Beatitudes Series Part 8 Continues with Fasting…

Why Would One Need To Fast?

Many reasons! Some reasons may include, but are not limited to, sickness, intercession for a loved one, rebuking evil or demonic spirits, humbly being in God’s presence, purifying oneself to ask forgiveness of sins to be realigned, and refocusing towards God.

I feel that fasting is not talked about much in the Christian society, and it’s an important part of a Christian way of life. If Jesus mentions it, it must be important! So let’s dive in….

Beatitudes Series Part 7: Learning About Foregiveness

Continuing with the Beatitudes Series Part 7, Jesus teaches us about the importance of FORGIVENESS.

Here is a short preview

Unforgiveness is holding a grudge, which, if left unchecked, can lead to sinful behaviors such as hate, revenge, and so on. We are to take all things to God in prayer, and even if we never encounter those individuals again, we can still forgive, to release the bondage and ties of that trespass so it’s no longer bound to us in a negative manner.

Beatitudes Series Part 4: Love, Truth, And Forgiveness

Beatitudes Series Part 4: Love, Truth & Forgiveness

We are now continuing with Matthew 5:33-48, where Jesus continues to speak about the law and the familiar scriptures that have been known for decades, but Jesus is clarifying His expectations moving forward.

Remember, the law was our schoolmaster - a law that outlined the expectations of living a perfect and pure life in the sight of God. We know that living such a life is impossible, and we need a Savior who can atone for sin once and for all.

Beatitudes Part 3: What The Bible Says About Divorce

Beatitudes part 3: What The Bible Says About Divorce

We are now continuing with Matthew 5:31-32, where Jesus addresses the topic of divorce. Although only two verses, this subject is a weighty one and must be examined from God’s perspective. Let’s also look back to where divorce was first established in the Old Testament.

A topic that may not apply to you personally, but in today’s world, most of us have encountered someone who has experienced divorce. This article is to help us understand what God says about the topic. It’s always best to look for answers in the Bible before we begin exploring man’s perspective or consulting others.

Beatitudes Series Part 1: Sermon on the Mount

Beatitudes Series Part 1: Sermon On The Mount

Explaining the Beatitudes starting in the book of Matthew 5. This Sermon on the Mount, as we know it, is the Beatitudes, which are manners of character that we should be aware of, for we are ambassadors to continue in spreading the Gospel Message of Salvation!

Living a life for Christ was not easy at all for the disciples; they were the forerunners, the ones who had to bring a message of Jesus, the tabernacle laws had passed, and the church was being reborn and given new freedom from the bondage of the Old Testament Law.

The message of salvation- one of faith- was not popular with the priests; they were no longer needed and wanted to keep the ways of tradition rather than seek freedom through salvation. If people were free of the traditions of the law, then we would no longer be in need of a mediator, but Jesus Christ.

Fishers of Men Matthew 4:18-21

When Jesus Calls, Drop Your Nets & Follow Him! A lesson from the first Disciples and the qualities they had to be called. If you find yourself in a position that God asks you to do something, He won’t send you unequipped, in fact He sends you to do something knowing already what your capabilities and talents are, He did create you after all! He knows us, and yes, even if that task of following where He leads you to go can be difficult or challenging, remember that God could send anyone, but He chose you.

Our relationship becomes rooted in His word, and we begin to sprout a new life, the stalk and leaves that give life.

Jesus, anointed of God-Matthew 3:11-17

Matthew 3:16-17

(16)“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: (17) And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Verse 16 During this time, we see that Jesus had a divine appointment. Jesus had/has no sin, therefore, He did not need to be baptized due to repentance or cleansing, but more as the beginning of His purpose to begin His ministry. When He was baptized, we read that after He rose from the water the heavens were opened unto him and the Holy Spirit of God descended like a dove upon Him.
