Big Announcement!

Before we begin, I have a big announcement! There will be many new additions coming to Creative Journey, and I’m excited to share that one of those goals has officially been accomplished with the Grand Opening of the Creative Journey Store! The store is just getting started, and there is so much more to come.

The Knowing Jesus Bible Study Guide, along with matching devotional resources and printables, is now available. Each resource was thoughtfully created to encourage believers to spend meaningful time in Scripture, grow in their faith, and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, whether you are a seasoned Christian or just beginning your walk with Him.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and followed along throughout this journey. I will continue praying for God to lead and direct me in what I share here.

Lately, I’ve felt led to pursue a more purpose-driven life — not only in my Christian walk, but also as a wife, mom, and soon-to-be grandmother. I work full-time, but I believe living a wholesome and intentional life is still possible. With thoughtful planning and God’s guidance, I’m looking forward to rebuilding the homemaker rhythms that mean so much to me.

I’d love for you to join me on this journey as I discover ways to cultivate a homemade and Christ-centered life while balancing full-time work and everyday responsibilities.

Key Verses of Discussion

Matthew 7:21-23

Ephesians 2:8-9

1 Corinthians 15:10

Titus 3:5-7

If you’re joining me today, I’m so glad you’re here. Take a moment to settle in—grab a fresh, hot cup of coffee or tea, your Bible, and maybe a notebook—and let’s spend some intentional time in God’s Word together.

In the last devotion, we learned about false prophets in our Beatitudes Bible Study Series. We continue with the Sermon on the Mount with a warning that not all who call out to God will enter into heaven. What is the one thing we can know we have our name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life before we take our last breath and enter into eternity?

If you missed the last devotion, you can find it here: Beatitudes Series Part 16.

As we continue our study of the Beatitudes, there is so much to unpack. We’re taking this journey slowly and intentionally, because even a few verses can hold deep wisdom and truth. Studying the Bible isn’t about rushing to the finish—it’s about growing, understanding, and drawing closer to God with each step.

Let’s continue walking through this Beatitudes Bible Study together, learning what Jesus teaches and applying His truth to our daily lives.

Not All Shall Enter

Matthew 7:21-23

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven; Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

Jesus Is The Only Way

Last devotion was about false prophets; this is a continuance to that portion, understanding that not all who claim to know Jesus are truly saved. When I speak of saved, I’m referring to the belief and having faith through Jesus Christ that He is the Only Begotten Son of God, He is God in the flesh. Jesus is the Son of God who came in the form of man, lived, and gave us the message of the redemption He has come to fulfill the Law. Jesus came to live amongst us and was then crucified. Three days later, He rose again, seated at the right hand of God in heaven, and will come again. Because Jesus did this, we are now able to have direct communication with God the Father through God the Son, Jesus Christ.

Being “saved” or “born again” is a way many Christians refer to themselves as having the experience of repenting of their sins, and asking God through faith for forgiveness by faith. When we have this moment in our life, to fully trust God, we are joined with Him by the Holy Spirit that lives within us. This is where many will refer themselves to being “saved” or “born again.”

Not All Shall Enter

Now let us continue with the passage, not everyone that says Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven. “But he that doeth the will of the Father,” this significant “but” is letting us know there is a difference. Those who claim to know Jesus, but in their hearts do not believe in Him, are false Christians and/or prophets, as we read about in the last devotion. Words are empty without action behind them; anyone can make a spoken profession of faith that they are reborn Christians, but not all are truly born-again Christians. A true repentant Christian is a daily cleansing to draw closer to God each day, and that individual will begin to be cleansed from the inside out, not of this world but of a new life.

True Christianity

I’ve heard some people claim they are Christian because their family is, but this is a false hope to rely upon another individual’s walk with Jesus, because the relationship has to be one-on-one with Jesus. If an individual is born into a religion and does all the traditions of that church when they are young, if they have not believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior through repentance, then their salvation is on the false hope of works. Living a Christian life, you can do everything to be good, but in reality, we still fall short; our goodness comes from Jesus, who purifies and keeps us on a straight and narrow path by conviction through the Holy Spirit.

Born-again Christians are not perfect, but are purified constantly by the edifying of the Holy Spirit. When salvation happens, there is no glorious feeling, fireworks, or any special song and harmony that is visible to us (although all heaven rejoices!) There is a change in the heart, one that we do not do ourselves, but a cleansing that only God can do. If there is a feeling of relief, it’s one that we are cleansed from our sins, and the burden has been lifted from us. We can bathe, change our clothes, but if our soul has not been cleansed, there is no true change through salvation. True repentance will have evidence of change in one’s life; this is where the action of one’s life will reflect what is truly in their heart.

Every Good Tree

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:22-23

Many Will Say, Lord, Lord

The sad reality is that so many have been led astray in thinking they are safe because of mom, dad, or grandma’s faith. It may even be by the things they claim have done in the name of God, or perhaps the actions they took in traditional ceremonies. All this without God is actions done in vain, there are no works or earning salvation. It’s truly a sad day we live that so many believe in their traditions of religion or ceremonies that they are good because of what they have done, and it should earn them a spot in heaven. Many will be turned away when they enter eternity.

Eternity is Forever- Non-Ending

But Angela, what if you are wrong in what you believe?

I’ve heard someone say they would rather be wrong their entire life believing God and at the time of death nothing happens to lose nothing. Rather then be wrong and die not believing in God, only to enter into eternity not trusting Jesus as their Savior, and live a life in eternal damnation, and lose everything.

I have no doubts about God, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit. I know this because I have witnessed a life full of sin and misdirection in this world to finally come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as my Savior, and the difference is nothing short of a miracle. There have been times that I have felt complete distress, and one prayer, God gives me peace. He is always with me, just a prayer away. Now, being a saved sinner through the grace of Jesus Christ, I have been freed from the bondage of sin. Don’t get this misunderstood, this is not perfection but purification.

Saved By Grace, Not By Works

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:5-7

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Matthew 7:23

What Is Your Salvation Based Upon?

A serious question that one cannot afford to answer and make sure of. If you still want more scripture and detail into what salvation is and how to recieve it, visit the Roman Road-Map of Salvation page, where I put together a short video and a printable sheet with all the scriptures.

Ask yourself today if you can recall a day or time that you called out in repentance to God for the forgiveness of your sins, for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to cleanse you. Is there a time you know for a fact you have trusted Jesus Christ by faith to accept His gift of salvation? My friend, be sure your salvation is not based on mom, dad, grandparent, friend, priest, or preacher. Salvation does not pass down generationally to inherit, the only inheritance to recieve is the eternal gift of God, Salvation through Jesus. Before you take another breath, be honest with yourself, because we are not promised our next breath, we are not promised tomorrow. You will have assurance that your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life. If you are not completely sure, ask the One who knows, God!

Memorizing scripture is a great practice, but without the true relationship with God through Jesus Christ, they are just words without the Holy Spirit. True understanding is to recieve the Holy Spirit through repentance and salvation from sin.

Today is your day, be sure you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior before it’s too late. Hollywood would have everyone believe you can come back after death and be redeemed. No, my friend, redemption is before your last breath.

God Does Not Send Anyone to Hell

God doesn’t send anyone to hell; it is a choice that the individual denies Jesus Christ. Everyone will have the opportunity to hear the gospel message of Salvation; it’s up to you to choose to accept the gift of salvation. Unbelief is what sends a sinner to an eternal hell.

Allow me to ask once more, Have you accepted Jesus Christas your Lord and Savior?

Please join me in prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us another day of life, another opportunity to praise and worship you.

Heavenly Father, I pray You will help guide and direct us daily, may we seek You in all things so You will get all honor and praise, not for what we do, but what You do through us. You are our eternal light, and I ask if any that has joined in this devotion will know You as their Lord and Savior. Give conviction where its needed, purge the things in our life that are not for Your glory. May we draw closer to You each day, we ask this in Your precious Holy Name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

If you have more questions on what the Bible says about Salvation, there is a small video with Scripture that is called The Roman Road- Map Of Salvation, plus a free printable PDF that has all the Scriptures on one page you can use and print as a reference guide or even to hand out while sharing the gospel message with others.

These are not for sale; please respect the copyright.

Quick Note:

Some Bible studies may take longer than others, as I am often led to explain certain verses in greater detail. I want you to know that these blog posts are written straight from my heart - they are not created by AI, so if you pay close attention, you may find my little nuggets of imperfections! What you read here are my own thoughts and reflections, guided by where God leads me.

I am not a professional; I’m simply a southern wife and mother of five with a deep desire to share the truth of our loving Heavenly Father. He loves you, and He longs to have a relationship with you. We are not called to be perfect, but we are called to be led by Him.

God has placed so much on my heart to share, and my prayer is that these words bless and encourage you. I’m not here for recognition or fame - only to spread the message of God’s love to you, my new friend, and to many others.

God be with you!
