Psalm 150

“Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise Him for His mighty acts: praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instrument and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”

Praise the Lord.

This statement is to the point; nothing is added to that one emphasizing point. This is a command, this is advice, this is how to worship- Praise ye the Lord.

Every day we should begin our minds set on God. When we do this as the first action we take for our day, we are thanking Him for what He has done for us. We are asking for His guidance that we may follow His lead for our lives.

Make a joyful noise. If you don’t play an instrument, then sing! God wants the raw, unpolished version of us. He created us all with our creative talents. Find your talent and praise God while you create!

Writing, painting, teaching, baking, singing, playing instruments, sewing, crocheting…We can be here all day to list out all the creative talents that God has blessed each of us! Even if you’re not creating something, you can still show acts of praise by ministering to others, being a friend, or being a caregiver.

When praising God, do it to the best of your ability, offering Him your best, and not comparing it to someone else's best. God wants your unpolished, messy self. He wants you, the one He created you to be.

Praise ye the Lord!

Praise Him:

In the storm

in the dark

in the valley

in sickness

in trials

in loss

in relationships

during your best moments

in victory

every day

Praise ye the Lord.

This week’s challenge:

Last week we discussed some things we could focus on, to wake early and give Him all our cares and concerns.

This week, let us focus on the blessings God has given to us, and let us praise Him for those blessings. Being joyful at all times is not always a practical mindset. Although we can praise the Lord no matter what our circumstances may be. When we focus on God, our storms and troubles become lighter burdens.

Read Matthew 14:22-32 Jesus tells Peter to come to him and when Peter leaves the boat his eyes are focused on Jesus, then he notices the storm and begins to focus and worry. Verse 31 “And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and he said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

Jesus will calm our storm; He just needs us to keep our focus on Him.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all You do for each one of us. Remind us to praise You when we face the storms in our lives, to put aside our concerns and lay them at Your feet. We know You have a plan for every storm or challenge to help build our faith stronger in You, to be our provider and meet our every need. You are are great provider, physician, and counselor. You are the great I AM. With You all things are possible; we know You still perform miracles, those times that the unexplained untangles before us. We thank You for our blessings, we ask that You constantly remind us to Praise You in all we do. To invite you into our day and activities, may we praise You always. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
