Psalm 62:1-2

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defence; I shall not be moved.”

In the days we live in, it often seems like there’s always something new trying to grab our attention-something that stirs up fear, worry, or concern. But no matter what the world throws our way- take comfort in knowing that, no matter our circumstances —good or bad— God is an unshakable foundation.

I’ve always loved spring. It’s a season of renewal, refreshing, and rebirth. The grass becomes greener, leaves begin to peak out from the trees, and wildflowers bloom with new life. This is a time to enjoy God’s beauty and be reminded that the things of this world will come and go, but God’s greatness never fades.

I live in the South, where we seem to live right in tornado valley. Each spring, we face strong squall-line storms that sweep through the area. The storms come at an inconvenient time of year, when I want to enjoy being outside, observing God’s beauty, and discover what is blooming new each day.

If I allowed fear to take over -fear of what could happen-I’d miss the joys and wonders of Spring. Storms come and go, and I have come to realize how much the media can overhype the weather to gain network ratings. They can’t predict it; only estimate based on what they observe in the atmosphere.

Instead of putting trust in the news, I choose to stay informed, take precautions, and most importantly, pray. Prayer dissolves fear. Fear is not from God- it’s something the enemy tries to plant in our minds. But the Word tells us not to give place to the devil. God is in control, and no matter the storm, He is our protector.

Have faith, even faith the size of a mustard seed. God is bigger than any storm that we’ll ever face, and prayer is the most powerful weapon we have against the devil.

“He is my defence; I shall not be moved.”

Whatever storms we may face- whether it’s weather, a personal trial, or a spiritual battle- remember: it may have taken you by surprise, but it’s not a surprise to God. He knows our needs even before we’re aware of them.

Seek God in all things. Praise Him in times of joy, and worship Him even amid the storm. He is faithful to lift us up, even in the darkest valleys.

Take heart, my friends, God is with you.

May your week be filled with blessings, clarity, and triumph.

Heavenly Father,

As we begin our week today, I pray that You will be with each one of us and our families. You are aware of the needs we have, and we hold our faith and trust in You to be our provider. Be with those of a poor spirit, broken heart, or those that are just concerned about decisions to make, no matter the battle/storm, we know that You will always be with us. You are our defence, we shall not be easily moved when we are close to You. I pray we may continue each day to pray and read Your precious Word, to find understanding, clarity, and comfort of Your abundant blessings within our lives. We thank You for all You have done for us, and we pray You will continue to give us strength, faith, hope, love, and clarity within our daily lives. May each one who prays with me be blessed by Your hand today and this week.

We ask this in Your Holy name, Jesus Christ, Amen.
