Esther 4:14

“…and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

In memory of Charlie Kirk, a pioneer of our time to a voice in the wilderness, the one who battled Goliaths daily and boldly walked into the lion’s dens. If you feel led to support his family, you can find the website here: Turning Point USA. (I have no affiliation with this organization; this is just a heartfelt way to help spread love and support towards their family.)

A Time to Remember

Before we begin with the Weekly Reflection, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge those who are attending and traveling today for the memorial service of Charlie Kirk, may they be safe.

Remember his wife Erika as she continues his legacy and their beautiful children, may they continue to grow in their dad’s memory, and one day take up the torch where he left off.

May we remember those of his team at Turning Point USA, and the many individuals whom Charlie Kirk was able to influence. We remember him for what he stood for - God, family, country. It’s not the man of who he is, but that he showed so many how to have an open conversation with those who may have a different opinion or belief.

His questions were the catalyst in his conversations; he genuinely wanted to understand what their thoughts and opinions were. I believe he showed so many how to have a conversation respectfully without judgment.

Let us remember his family during this time as they transition into a new way of life, one that Erika wakes up every day to continue her husband’s legacy, and their children. God bless them and continue to keep them strong in the Lord.

For those who will begin to pick up the mic, may their feet be prepared with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and may they wear the Armor of God daily as they are faced with the challenges ahead. With many of us standing united, it’s harder for satan to be successful.

Take a stand, read and pray daily, and if you’re on social media, let that be your platform to share the love of Christ daily. A great awakening has begun for so many who are being drawn to the Lord. May we be a light that shines on Jesus and His Word.

Queen Esther

Many view Erika Kirk as a modern-day Esther. To be a voice and represent God’s people, as I can see this, let us remember that you and I can be that as well.

God’s people were in a very difficult situation, and Esther was put in a place at the right time for such a time as this. It was no mistake that the king saw favor and chose Esther to be his wife; what they meant for her to be in a better place, in fact, led to much more than that - it led to her being a big part in representing God’s people with the position she was in - the Queen.

Gather Together

“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16

Queen Esther was preparing to approach the king; the verse says that she would fast with her maidens and asked the Jews to do the same. While fasting takes place, it’s a time to rely on God’s Word, and not on the daily provisions the body needs. It is a time to focus on the spirit and not on the physical body.

During this time, the king would be the one to call upon people, not the other way around, and especially not a woman, even if it were his wife. There is a protocol of respect for how business was conducted, and Queen Esther knew she was risking her life. If she sat back and did nothing, it would risk the lives of God’s people. She didn’t have concern over her own life, but to save God’s people. She knew she had a chance to save God’s people due to the position she was put in, but she knew she could not do it without God.

Standing Tall

God isn’t necessarily asking us to be a king or queen, or even a top leader (unless He is). We can do so much in the community that we are already in. We can be a light, to shine God’s love and forgiveness to the people we are already surrounded by.

Focus on God and His Word. When we spend time with God, the light begins to shine from within, and others will begin to notice the change. When you have the opportunity to be a witness to others, pray that you will say the right words that God can give you.

Memorizing God’s Word, one verse at a time, and praying and reading God’s Word daily. When we have a hunger for God, the ones we are around will start to desire to know God’s Word.

This week’s challenge:

How can you make a difference in the community you’re in?

Begin to memorize Salvation verses. If you need help, you can receive a free salvation printable when you sign up for the Creative Journey Newsletter!

Pray for strangers you pass by, we may not know their names, their story, but prayer can go a long way. We never know what others are facing; sometimes prayer is the best way to cover them with God’s protection and love.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father,

Heavenly Father, we ask that you continue to be with us as we remember the life Charlie Kirk led. We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We no longer pray for Charlie Kirk; we do ask that you continue to be with the family and friends that he left behind. His life will not go in vain. The torch he carried and became a voice to carry Your Word, Father, may we see that as an example that we can have the knowledge and carry that legacy. May we be the Esther of today, to make a difference in the community we are in and to spread Your love and the saving grace, Your plan of Salvation to others. May You be with those grieving, and may this be a wake-up reality to so many that may not know You, Lord, that they will now have the opportunity to hear Your precious Word and to know that nobody is too far gone, sinned too much to be forgiven. May many come to You, Lord, Charlie pointed the way to You, Jesus, I ask that so will turn to You. May You lift up even more voices that will stand and continue to be a voice in this world, to pick up where our brother in Christ, Charlie, left off.

We ask this in Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

May God be with you, my friend in Christ!
