Mark 8:38

“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.

In memory of Charlie Kirk, a pioneer of our time to a voice in the wilderness, the one who battled Goliaths daily and boldly walked into the lion’s dens. If you feel led to support his family, you can find the website here: Turning Point USA. (I have no affiliation with this organization; this is just a heartfelt way to help spread love and support towards their family.)

Whosoever Shall Be Ashamed

Let us be cautious of what the wisdom of the world says is acceptable; we should align our morals with God’s Word.

Our opinions are valuable, but if they are not aligned with God’s Word, then we should seek out the truth. Mentors or even family members we respect and love dearly may share wisdom they believe to be true because it’s what they were taught, but in reality, it may not perfectly align with God’s Word.

We must be cautious about what we base our morals upon. It is not rude to exercise discernment; we are called to test and examine what we believe. Do your own research on the matter. We should not be ashamed of the truth either. We have the responsibility to inform our loved ones of what God’s Word says, even if it is not popular.

When we know the truth of God’s Word, we are responsible to represent it and to share it with others without being ashamed. I certainly don’t want to one day try to explain to God why I didn’t share the truth when I had the opportunity. I have missed many opportunities, and when I do, the tug in my heart weighs heavily. That is the Holy Spirit communicating to us about the opportunity we have missed. I can only hope that I can be bolder to speak when I have another opportunity to do so.

Well Done

We have probably seen this verse shared quite a bit lately in reference to Charlie Kirk. When we have the opportunity to share the gospel with others, we should pray that God would guide us and give us the words to say.

“His Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” - Matthew 25:23

To hear these words spoken by our Lord and Savior when we take our last breath on earth, and we see Jesus in heaven, is to humbly hear such words from Jesus. Knowing we have done all to stand for the glory of God.

This week’s challenge:

Courage to share God’s Word. Let us watch for ample opportunities that may open the door to share the gospel with others. If you are unsure of what to share, get in God’s Word and ask Him for guidance to help you speak words of truth.

Discernment - Let us practice discernment in what we chose to be truth. In order to know if things are aligned with God’s Word, it’s best to remain strong in studying the Bible. God doesn’t expect us to know all things in a certain amount of time, but to continually add to our knowledge based on His Word.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the blessings of another week, another day and another moment to enjoy the wonderful creation aroundus. May we be bold messengers of Your Word, that we may properly dicern Your Word and the things that we believe to be truth. Reveal to us if there are beliefs in our lives that we may need to reexamine in our lives. We ask You forgiveness of our sins, may we be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit to continue guiding us every day in our thoughts and words we speak, may they glorify You. Teach us to spread Your gospel message of salvation to others, give us boldness to speak, clarity and wisdom. May You be with each one here praying together, help them strengthen in their faith and bless their week ahead, with Your guidance.

We ask this in Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

May God be with you, my friend in Christ!
